As of late, many people have started using bottled water dispensers in the home as well as at the office. This is because, although many areas public drinking water has been labeled as safe, most still have a number of pollutants, often not visible through some testing methods, such as drug runoff from people flushing or pouring old chemicals and pharmaceuticals down the drain. After which these products can contaminate area water supplies. Then, once these pollutants get into the local water distribution pipeline, individuals using such water may often become ill without realizing the cause of such illness. Therefore, using a bottled water dispenser or bottle water cooler is one good way to assure one is drinking cleaner water than from the tap alone.
Fortunately, a movement to clean up local waterways and restore clean drinking water to millions worldwide has recently been brought to light through various environmental and online groups working toward such a goal. Until such time however, one can have a great deal fewer plastic bottles or other items to recycle by using one of these dispensers which generally hold three to twenty gallons of water at a time. In addition, as these bottles are reusable, one can basically eliminate a large portion of recycling when it comes to individual water bottles.
Water Pitcher Filter
When setting up such a system in the home or office, one must decide on which basic set up one would like to have. As there are both counter top and standing floor models and those which allow the consumer cold water, hot water or both. Also, some models connect directly to a water supply line in the home, such as an ice or water dispenser on a side-by-side refrigerator unit where others can be connected to a direct plumbing line, or there are those that just plug into the wall and cool the water as it sits in the reservoir. In addition, only recently have a few companies started delivering systems for the home in which one can clean their own water through the process of reverse osmosis. Some of these systems clean the water independently while others require one to load water into a container and run the system in order for the reverse osmosis process to begin, after which process is complete, one can pour such water into a large pitcher or other container as desired.
Although, there have only been a few of these systems developed for the home, one can assure one is getting the cleanest possible drinking water by using one of these systems. However, most of these cold and hot water bottle dispensers which also treat the water are fairly expensive. However, there are a few counter top and other designs which prove less expensive than buying bottled water over time. One of the easiest to operate and understand is most likely the counter top reverse osmosis treatment which cleans one gallon of water at a time. Regardless of the model, as most consumers only use spring or treated water in such set-ups, the water generally tastes fresh until a time the bottle needs to be refilled regardless of which type of water is being used in the system.
Therefore, one also need be aware that there are a variety of water types which can be sold for traditional bottle water coolers. The main three water types for these dispensers include, distilled, spring and pretreated water. Distilled water, is generally regular tap water which has been filtered before sale. One also wants to be careful and read labels closely, for when buying spring water, it is always good to know whether it was bottled at the source or has been open to contamination through transportation. Whereas, pretreated water has been cleansed through a process generally known as reverse osmosis, in which the impurities are removed from the water while the essential elements are replaced.
As there are only a few stores selling water today which has been filtered and treated through this process known as reverse osmosis, some individuals have started using this process to clean and filter tap water in the home. However, as these units are quite costly, most individuals and offices still prefer the traditional bottled water dispenser for both ease of operation and the ability to have hot or cold water at the touch of a button. So, while these new systems may be great for cleaning water through reverse osmosis in the home, many find they still prefer the traditional bottled water coolers and dispensers over, or at the very least, along with such home treatment systems.
Next, one must decide on whether to use glass or plastic bottles. Although glass is always better than plastic, to avoid a possible plastic aftertaste, many prefer glass. However, these glass and larger plastic jugs, even at the minimal three gallon size are extremely heavy when filled with water. Therefore, one need know the ability one has to lift and place such bottles on the unit when making such a decision.
So, whether one is planning on using glass or plastic bottles, one may want to seriously think about looking at the new bottled water dispensers on the market today. This is because these type dispensers provide a closed storage space underneath the dispenser in which these water bottles easily slide in and out when it is time to refill or replace such bottles, eliminating a great number of health risks due to lifting and controlling such water bottles in the future.
In addition, this new style allows for easy access and keeps water fresher as it is only filtered, heated or cooled at the moment used which avoids the water becoming stagnant while stored in a reservoir, where water is often cooled on an ongoing basis. Therefore, these new bottled water dispensers in which the bottles are located underneath are a great design for either younger children or older adults as do they not only provide a better way to store and dispense water but also a way in which the water stays as fresh as the day it was purchased.
To this end, one can find a great many bottled water dispensers on the market today. Many of which are traditional top load dispensers, however anyone with issues relating to lifting or age, may want to also look at these bottom loading bottle water coolers as well. With regards to the treatment systems for the home or office, these can come in as small as a one gallon treatment unit which works on a counter top or through a larger system connected through a pipeline.
Whichever way one decides to go, one is most likely going to have some of the cleanest tasting water on the planet today, whether that is through water treated through reverse osmosis or distilled or spring water which have gone through additional filtration before being placed on the market. Therefore, when deciding on which bottled water dispenser to buy, one need select the one that is best for their own home or office needs. In doing so, one eliminates health risks from contaminated or stagnant water and allows for a refreshing taste over tap water. Therefore, many find they are both happier and healthier when drinking fresh clean water, be it distilled and filtered, spring or treated, thus making such a purchase well worthwhile in the end.
